All the scenarios in which Argentina can qualify
Argentina’s success against Mexico (2-0 thanks to goals from Messi and Enzo Fernandez) has kept alive the dream of Scaloni’s players, who have overtaken Saudi Arabia in second place in Group C standings with three points.
Messi and his friends are now just one point behind Poland, who lead the group with four points. The ranking is closed by Mexico, which has received only one point in the first two games.
In the last match of the group, the Albiceleste will face Poland, a decisive match for qualification to the 1/8 of the World Cup.
Argentina will finish the group in first place if they win against Poland (with any result) and if the challenge between Saudi Arabia and Mexico ends in a draw or a Mexican victory.
Or if they beat Poland and Saudi Arabia they would beat Mexico, but with a worse goal difference than Argentina (currently, the blue and whites are +1 and Arabia -1).
Argentina can qualify as the second, if these results are verified: victory for Messi with friends with Poland, but victory of Saudi Arabia against Mexico with a better goal difference.
Scaloni’s team draw against Lewandowski with friends and Saudi Arabia lose or draw in the last game against Mexico. Loss against Poland and Saudi Arabia’s loss against Mexico.
