Former international Karim Gazzetta’s unfortunate passing is being lamented by SWISS football. Sadly, the 27-year-old committed suicide by jumping from a skyscraper.

He passed away earlier this morning, according to The Sarajevo Times, in Kneza Viseslava Street. The majority of Gazzetta’s career has been spent playing in his native Switzerland, though in 2022 he switched to Bosnian team HSK Zrinjski Mostar.

He only made one Premier League appearance for Zrinjski due to an injury, which also caused him to miss half the season. He has received a cap for Switzerland at every age group up to the Under-20s. The first club of Gazzetta, Servette FC, tweeted a statement.

It read: “The Servettienne family laments the disappearance of club kid Karim Gazetta today. We express our deepest sympathies and support to his family and loved ones. Sacred rest to Karim”.

The Swiss Football League has also issued a statement, which reads: “The Swiss Football League mourns the death of former M20 international Karim Gazzetta, who unfortunately died in Bosnia, and expresses its most profound condolences to his family and loved ones”.
