“Congratulations to the team, it’s the first step. Six to go.” These are the words of coach Tite after the success achieved by his Brazil against Serbia in their debut at the World Cup in Qatar.

The reference is to the games missing from the potential title win, with the Seleção playing the two remaining group games with Neymar and Danilo, both injured in the match against Serbia.

This is reported by ‘globo.com’, which, citing Brazilian national team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar, explains how instrumental tests “have shown an injury to the lateral ligament of Neymar’s right ankle, together with an edema small bone” and “an injury to the medial ligament of the left ankle” of the Juventus defender, who, unlike his teammate (substituted in tears), remained on the field until the end against Serbia.

A result which, according to the Brazilian media, means that the two players will miss the last two matches of the group stage, where Brazil (the big favorites of Group G) will first challenge Switzerland (Monday 28 November) and after Cameroon (Friday 2 December).

In the event of a sensational exit, the World Cup would be over for Neymar and Danilo, who meanwhile continue physiotherapy while Tite considers how to replace them.

Also, according to ‘globo.com’, Dani Alves is in pole position (for Militao) to take the full-back position, while O’Ney can be replaced by Rodrygo from Real.
